2018 Releases! They’re right around the corner!

2018 Anticipated Releases!

I hope everyone who celebrates had a great Christmas!

I can’t believe I’m writing this — 2018 is looming…waiting in the wings…right around the corner! It’s practically here! I’ve been pretty out of the loop for the latter half of 2017, but I have managed to find a LOT of 2018 releases to anticipate (surprise, surprise!). All of my 2018 anticipated releases aren’t here; I wrote another post in October featuring some more!

But before I get on my list, I’m going to book-push the one 2018 release that I have already read and ADORED! The Hazel Wood by Melissa Albert! I’m sure you’ve heard about it by now. The hype has been huge surrounding it, and extremely well-deserved. It made its way on to my favorites list immediately after I finished reading it. Think the magic of The Night Circus, meets YA fairytales!

Now, on to the books! I’ve sorted them by month and release date so you can easily plan your book-buying!

Reign of the Fallen by Sarah Glenn Marsh

To be published January 23, 2018, from Razorbill.

Odessa is one of Karthia’s master necromancers, catering to the kingdom’s ruling Dead. Whenever a noble dies, it’s Odessa’s job to raise them by retrieving their souls from a dreamy and dangerous shadow world called the Deadlands. But there is a cost to being raised–the Dead must remain shrouded, or risk transforming into zombie-like monsters known as Shades. If even a hint of flesh is exposed, the grotesque transformation will begin.

A dramatic uptick in Shade attacks raises suspicions and fears among Odessa’s necromancer community. Soon a crushing loss of one of their own reveals a disturbing conspiracy: someone is intentionally creating Shades by tearing shrouds from the Dead–and training them to attack. Odessa is faced with a terrifying question: What if her necromancer’s magic is the weapon that brings Karthia to its knees?

2nd: The Lost Season of Love and Snow by Jennifer Laam
4th: The Fandom by Anna Day
23rd: Markswoman by Rati Mehrotra

Early Excitement | Auto-Buy Authors and the Far-Away ’18s

Auto-Buy Authors and Far-Away '18s.png

Note: This post was pre-written in August as I am currently away at school. At the time of writing, all of these books had yet to be released.

I briefly started including anticipated releases and new books on my radar in my Month in Review posts. But, I found that I had too much fun chatting about them for only a small section in those posts. So, I return to my Early Excitement posts! Instead of only talking about next month’s new releases, though, I’m including whatever upcoming books grabbed my attention recently (which were a lot)! I apologize, there’s no order to the release dates for these books, either. Oops.

April 2016 Is Rocking My Book World!

Early Excitement

April seems to the the month when ALL THE BOOKS are coming out. I’ve already had the opportunity to read so many upcoming releases, and I’m very happy with most of the ones I’ve read so far. Plus, one of my most anticipated books of the year is coming out at the end of this month!! I’m sure you can probably guess which it is before I even show you my list…

Dreamology by Lucy Keating (4/12) | The Passion of Dolssa by Julia Berry (4/12) | The Darkest Corners by Kara Thomas (4/19) | Scarlett Epstein Hates It Here by Anna Breslaw (4/19) | The Star-Touched Queen by Roshani Chokshi (4/26) | Heir to the Sky by Amanda Sun (4/26) | The Rose and the Dagger by Renée Ahdieh (4/26)

These are just some (the ones I’m most excited for) of the books coming out this April. It’s a pretty killer lineup, if I do say so myself…

The hype surrounding Dreamology got to me, and I had to put it on my list. I’ve been hyping myself up for The Passion of Dolssa! I loved Julie’s All the Truth That’s in Me, and so I just know this will be good! The Darkest Corners is a mystery/thriller, and I’m a sucker for those. Plus, the publisher seems to be doing a lot to promote it, so if they’re excited, I will be too! Scarlett Epstein Hates It Here sounds AH-MAZING and laugh out loud funny. This is another hyped addition to the list. The Star-Touched Queen needs no explanation. Heir to the Sky sounds like an incredible concept, and THAT COVER: AH!

And last but certainly, certainly not least, possibly my MOST ANTICIPATED BOOK OF THE YEAR: THE ROSE AND THE DAGGER! I flipped when I found out the release date had been moved up a week. If you’re wondering why I’m so FREAKING excited, check out my review of The Wrath and the Dawn!

So, those are the April releases I can’t wait to get my *grabby hands* on! What titles are you looking forward to this April?

Early Excitement: January 2016 (The I Can’t Believe it’s Almost 2016 Edition!)

Early Excitement

Holy cow! It’s been awhile since I’ve written one of these posts. I absolutely love highlighting the books I’m looking forward to in the coming month, so I can’t believe I’ve neglected this feature! But I’m back at it for the new year, and just in time, too. There are SO MANY books coming out that I just can’t wait to get my grabby hands on!

Check out this January 2016 YA Releases list on Goodreads to see (almost) all of the YA titles releasing this January!

Early Excitement: June 2015 (THE MONTH WHEN IT’S FINALLY SUMMER!!!)

Early Excitement

While last month I was over the moon with excitement because ALL THE BOOKS were coming out, this month — not so much. I only have two, YES TWO, upcoming releases to share with you. But just because there’s a small number of books doesn’t mean they’re any less exciting. I’m super duper excited for both of these books. Just in time for summer, these two contemporaries are making it to the top of my list.

Last Year’s Mistake by Gina Ciocca | Even When You Lie to Me by Jessica Alcott

Both LYM and EWYLTM are the kind of contemporary books that I immediately gravitate towards. LYM is a second chance romance between past best friends, and EWYLTM is a student/teacher relationship. Now before you freak out because I like to read about student/teacher relationships, I strictly like to read about them. I think they make for really complex and emotional stories, with really deep characters, which I like in books. I actually heard about these two books at the same time, and I’ve been waiting for them ever since!

What June release are you anticipating?
