E. Lockhart’s new book, Genuine Fraud just came out. I was lucky enough to get an ARC and have read it already and WOW it’s really good! You can check out my review here. I’ve been reading a lot of mysteries and thrillers this summer, and most all of them have been fabulous. I’ve discovered some great new authors whose books give me a similar feel to E. Lockhart’s incredible storytelling abilities. So if you’re looking for your next edge-of-your-seat read after being left shocked by this book, you’ve come to the right place!
1. THE TELLING BY ALEXANDRA SIROWY
There’s murder, it’s dark, and super emotional and intense. She’s also written two others: The Creeping and First We Were IV, which look just as good.
MY REVIEW
2. THE DARKEST CORNERS BY KARA THOMAS
An intricately plotted, chilling story. She’s also just released a new one, called Little Monsters, which I am SO excited about and have heard incredible things as well.
MY REVIEW
3. THE DEAD HOUSE BY DAWN KURTAGICH
Unreliable narrators! This one was chilling, verging on the line between a thriller and horror story. She has also written another, And the Trees Crept In, which I need to read ASAP!
MY REVIEW
4. DANGEROUS GIRLS BY ABIGAIL HAAS
I loved this one SO much! It is a whirlwind rollercoaster ride until the very end. I’ve heard nothing but great things about this from other reviewers as well. It’s a must read for fans of this genre!
MY REVIEW
5. THE WALLS AROUND US BY NOVA REN SUMA
This was such a dark and beautifully written story. It hasn’t gotten too much attention, but Nova Ren Suma is an author you should definitely check out.
MY REVIEW
Ohh, I haven’t read Genuine Faud but it sounds like such a good book. I have read and enjoyed The Walls Around Us, so glad to hear you mentioning it. It deserves more love for sure! 🙂 Great post! 🙂
Thanks, Marie! 🙂
