Synopsis from Goodreads:

It’s cold outside, but the drama is hot!

The Diamond sisters jet to the mountains for spring break, and Savannah’s flirt-mance with an international pop star heats up as her pursuit of stardom succeeds. But is this romance meant to be, or has the right guy been in front of her all along? Meanwhile, Courtney takes the next step with her secret boyfriend—and future stepbrother—and as their parents’ wedding approaches, the pressure’s on to reveal their relationship.

Peyton’s figuring out a plan for her future, but she still feels guilty about getting her former bodyguard fired and wonders if she can get over him in the arms of someone else. But the biggest bombshell will change everything once again, because Madison’s ready to tell the huge secret she’s uncovered. And with the boy who betrayed her but who could be the love of her life fighting for his own life, she might need the Diamond sisters more than ever.

my rambles

Lately I’ve been in a life-caused reading slump, so when I saw Diamonds are Forever sitting on the shelf at the bookstore I snatched it up! Michelle Madow’s books are some of my go-tos to entertain and put a smile on my face. The crazier the drama, the bigger the smile. After the end of the second book in this series I was actually desperate to see what else happened to the girls. I’m glad to say Diamonds are Forever didn’t disappoint!

I won’t say too much as not to spoil, but pretty much everything comes to a head in this last installment. The story in this one is more about the romances that have been developing throughout the course of the series, less about the family issues. Those are still there, but I felt like they took a back seat to all the drama surrounding the romances.

Again, I’m finding it hard to write this review without spoiling people, but I think you’ll be happy with the ending. Cliché in every way, it was super cute and made me smile. Everyone deserves a happy ending, right?

Diamonds are Forever, like the rest of its series, is no feat of literature. But if you’re looking for something quick and fun, that’ll keep you hooked, these books are for you. For fans that already know about the series, I have a feeling Diamonds are Forever will probably be your favorite book of the series. It’s mine!

College Apps, Updates, and Apologies

Dear Lovely People,

Emily here! Surprise! I took quite the hiatus without really letting anyone know. I wasn’t really sure I was going to go full-out hiatus, myself, to be honest. But it turns out I did. I feel like all I do in update posts anymore is apologize, so I’m going to make this one short and sweet and get on with updating you on my life, etc.

To all the publishers and bloggers who I’ve missed deadlines for: I’m so sorry. Fulfilling those deadlines for reviews and posts is my #1 priority before anything else now that I’m back And to all of you amazing readers: Thanks so much for sticking with me, even through all the many hiatuses I seem to take! I love you guys and chatting with you is what keeps me going (along with my love of books of course!)

So enough with the apologies…

I applied to college!! I can’t believe that I actually did it. The time snuck up on me, and before I knew it I was an official college applicant. I’ll find out if I get in mid-December!

Senior year is going smoothly, and I’m loving the classes I’m taking. If you’re friends with me on Goodreads you’ll have seen the books I’ve been reading for my AP Lit class: So far Pride & Prejudice, The Admirable Crichton and now on to Pygmalion. Between those books and getting my portfolio ready for college apps I haven’t had time to read much (or blog, obviously).

I’m so behind in the world of YA lit! Seriously, if you’ve heard of any upcoming releases, publishing news, ARCs I should be pining for etc, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE SHARE!! I’m desperate to be back in the loop!

Well, I’m officially back for good this time. I should have a review up of Famous in Love by Rebecca Serle next week. I read it a while ago now, but fingers crossed I’ll remember enough to write a good review! As soon as I finish this post I’m going to be starting These Shallow Graves by Jennifer Donnelly, which is releasing next week. It sounds very creepy and perfect for the fall/Halloween season.

Again, I’d love to hear what’s been going on in the blogging and YA community! PLEASE SHARE!

I love you all, and thanks for sticking with me!
